PILBARA Ports Authority has reported a total monthly throughput of 61.7 million tonnes for May 2022. This represents a 2% decline compared with May 2021.
The Port of Port Hedland saw a monthly throughput of 48.5 million tonnes. It should come as no surprise that most of Port Hedland’s throughput (47.7 million tonnes) was iron ore exports.
Imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 166,000 tonnes, a decrease of 3% compared with May 2021.
The Port of Dampier saw a total throughput of 12.5 million tonnes, a 7% decrease from May 2021.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 82,000 tonnes last month, a decrease of 25% from May last year.
