ENGAGE Marine has been awarded a contract to support CSL Australia’s transhipment operations and perform harbour towage services at the Port of Whyalla in the Spencer Gulf in South Australia.
The contract, which is due to commence on 7 September, will involve the mobilisation of three additional tugs to Whyalla to join Engage Challenger, which is already operational at the port.
The tugs will be used to safely move the floating offshore transfer barge and self-unloading barges to allow the loading of iron ore onto oceangoing vessels at the transhipment point.
Engage Marine CEO Mark Malone said, “we are delighted to be awarded this contract and provided with the opportunity to continue to support CSL’s operations in Whyalla. This award is a direct reflection of the efforts of our operational team in Whyalla in delivering a level of service that differentiates us as the preferred supplier to CSL.”
