THE HAMPTON Harbour Pontoon at the Port of Dampier is back in business.

A spokesperson for the port said a minor collision had damaged the pontoon, which had led to its emergency closure, but repairs had since been made.

A notice issued by Harbour Master, Captain Mike Minogue on 15 December said port users were advised that due to unforeseen circumstances the pontoon had been closed for emergency repairs but all facilities at the pontoon were now available.

The pontoon provides facilities for vessel maintenance and repairs, for loading and unloading and is a hub for recreational activities in the Dampier Archipelago.

The notice said all services at the pontoon had been suspended but repairs had been completed in 24 hours.
