ONESTOP container management platform OptiBook is set to launch at DP World’s Melbourne terminal next month.

The technology is integrated with OneStop’s Vehicle Booking System and is due to go live at DPW’s West Swanson Terminal on Monday 2 December 2024.

OneStop designed OptiBook to connect ports, transport companies and truck drivers by reducing dwell times and optimising truck utilisation.

The roll-out at DP World comes a year after the platform was introduced at Patrick’s Melbourne terminal. The DPW transition means all Melbourne terminals will now operate under one streamlined booking logic, according to the terminal operator.

DP World anticipates a “smoother and more efficient container booking system” for transport operators, who would be able to manage all their containers from single screen via the platform.

“We are proud to work with OneStop on launching OptiBook, which will meaningfully enhance productivity for our customers,” DPW executive vice president Oceania, APAC Nicolaj Noes said.

“This innovative solution demonstrates our commitment to delivering world-class service while empowering our customers to achieve greater operational efficiencies.”

DP World West Swanson will initially operate OptiBook at the vessel level, while transport operators will continue their current stack run processes without alterations.

DP World expects carriers to experience increased visibility of their bookings and manifest information and real-time communications through the OneStop Deliver App.

DP World plans to communicate details of the slot drop configuration to industry on 11 November, while OneStop is hosting a webinar on 20 November to demonstrate the OptiBook booking process and answer questions.

Also on 11 November, DP World West Swanson is partnering with the Container Transport Alliance Australia to host an in-person information session for transport operators in Melbourne.
