MORE than 100 players are preparing for the upcoming Shipping and Logistics Golf Challenge, now less than two weeks away from teeing off.

The annual industry golf day aims to raise money for charity, and this year’s field will see the total raised for childhood cancer research at Westmead Children’s Hospital.

The current figure is approaching $850,000, “well in sight” of the $1 million mark.

The venue for this year is again the prestigious Long Reef Golf Club at Collaroy in New South Wales, with the event date set for Friday October 11.

Breakfast and registration will be open from 7am, with a shotgun start at 8am followed by lunch, drinks, and presentations.

Peter Attwater, one of the golf day organisers, said the response to sponsorship had again been outstanding from all sectors of the industry.

“We are now looking for everyone’s co-operation in supplying us with their team details as soon as possible as well as finalising payment of their sponsorship invoices prior to the day itself,” Mr Attwater said.

Details of teams (or changes) can be sent to peter.attwater@outlook.com or call 0414 425 794.

Sponsorship payments or inquiries can be directed to Lesley Eldershaw at apacpaexec@ur.com

An interim draw for the golf day will be published in next week’s DCN Newswire.
