FEDEX Australia has recently opened its new sortation and distribution facility in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.
The logistics and transport global player expects their new facility will support economic growth in the region, as well as small and medium businesses looking to expand their domestic and international reach.
The new facility spans over 2400 square metres and is equipped with “advanced” material handling and sortation technology which can reportedly sort up to 1300 packages per hour.
Strategically located near the highway, the new facility intends to provide easy access for express pick-up and delivery services across Coffs Harbour and surrounding areas, including Grafton to the north and Eungai Creek to the south.
It will also serve as a domestic and international collection point, providing end-to-end transportation services for local importers and exporters.
Coffs Harbour is a robust economic region for NSW, contributing $5 billion of gross regional product, accounting for almost 0.7 percent of NSW’ gross state product.
FedEx believes Coffs Harbour is poised for continued economic expansion, with a projected population growth of almost 29 percent by 2041.
FedEx says their new facility will help support this burgeoning growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.
