GLOBAL professional services company GHD has appointed Renata Berglas as its Australian ports sector leader.
Ms Berglas will focus on connecting GHD’s port and maritime infrastructure capabilities to the market and providing a value proposition that aligns with Australian ports businesses’ future needs.
She has a background in strategy development, honed through roles at the National Transport Research Organisation, Queensland Transport and Logistics Council and AgForce Queensland.
GHD describes Ms Berglas as “a passionate and knowledgeable port advocate” with an interest in decarbonisation innovation in port operations.
She is founder of the H2Q Hydrogen Queensland industry group – an initiative in which she set out to advance sustainable port operations on a global scale, including through work with the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Centre for Zero Carbon Shipping.
GHD’s Australian transport leader Mikel Alonso said the ports industry across Asia Pacific is poised for unprecedented growth in the next decade.
“The ports and terminals market are projected to grow significantly by 2028, and investment in port infrastructure continues to be a major trend currently,” he said.
“We must anchor our abilities to help our clients reach their long-term destinations.”
