MID West Ports Authority has announced the immanent commencement of a new jetty in Geraldton.
The Eastern Breakwater Jetty is to be built by contractor SMC Marine
Fencing at the site and infrastructure protection has already commenced.
MWPA CEO Damian Tully said: “you will see activity at the site has already commenced and we expect this to increase over coming weeks as the project gains momentum”.
“This jetty will provide benefit to commercial tourism operators in the region and enhance their ability to provide tourism offerings focused on the marine environment, particularly the Abrolhos Islands”, Mr Tully said.
The jetty is being constructed midway along the Geraldton Esplanade and is designed to accommodate vessels greater than 25 metres in length.
