CONTAINER throughput at Fremantle Ports saw an uptick in January, increasing on the same month last year, and the previous month.
In January, the port handled a total of 67,678 TEU. This was an increase of 3% on December 2022, when the port handled a total of 65,754 TEU.
And also January’s numbers were up 7.7% on the port’s throughput in the same month last year.
Total containerised coastal trade through the port was up in January. The port handled a total of 8046 TEU of coastal trade in the first month of this year.
This was an increase of 19% on December (when the port handled 6762 TEU of coastal trade), and 71% above January 2022 (4717 TEU).
Total containerised exports from Freo declined slightly – just 561 TEU – in January, compared with December.
And total containerised imports increased in January xx% to 35,267 TEU.
