A NAMING ceremony has been held at for a new very large gas carrier that NYK is to charter to Astomos Energy Corporation.
Astomos Energy executive vice-president Mitsuru Yamanaka was the one to officially name the vessel at the ceremony, and the ceremonial rope holding the vessel in place was cut by his wife. NYK senior managing executive officer Akira Kono also attended the ceremony, along with others from NYK.
The ship, named Latana Planet, is 229.9 metres long and has a tank capacity of 86,500 cubic metres (including the on-deck tank capacity of 2500 cubic metres). The vessel is 37.2 metres in width, has a depth of 21.9 metres and a summer draft of 11.6 metres.
