John Mullen will chair the taskforce. He will be joined by Maritime Industry Australia CEO Angela Gillham, MUA national secretary Paddy Crumlin, Dr Sarah Ryan of Woodside Energy, and military logistics expert Major-General Jason Walk.
Also in the news, the Maritime Union of Australia announced its members at Svitzer Australia would take industrial action next week.
The union members plan to stop work for four hours on Wednesday 26 October at ports in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
