IN THE news this week, the Australian Federal Police launched a major investigation after more than $182 million worth of drugs was found concealed in a shipment of coffee beans, seized in Melbourne.

Darwin Port welcomed Peter Dummett as its new CEO, and Victoria’s Port of Portland also announced its next CEO, Greg Burgoyne, would step into the role in January.

Also, the Australian government announced it is funding a monthly barge service between Norfolk Island and Brisbane, operated by Neptune Pacific Direct Line.

And a general cargo ship sank while it was at berth at the Turkish port of Iskenderun. Shipping containers were being discharged from the vessel when it apparently lost stability and sank.
