LOGISTICS specialist Logos on Friday announced that Chrisco, an online retailer has committed to a 21,189-square-metre temperature-controlled food grade facility at its Berrinba Logistics Hub.
The new facility at Berrinba will become the national packing and distribution facility for Chrisco, consolidating the Lytton, Brisbane and the Keysborough, Melbourne facilities.
This new facility will be part ambient, part temperature controlled, consisting of different temperature zones ranging from minus 20 degrees through to 5 degrees.
The new facility is located at Logos’ new Berrinba Logistics Estate.
Logos acquired Berrinba Logistics Estate in 2017. The estate plays a role in the venture strategy of developing logistics facilities across eastern seaboard markets in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Logos head of Australia and New Zealand Darren Searle said: “We are excited to be developing a new facility in Brisbane for Chrisco at Berrinba Logistics Hub. We have a strong track record of developing world-class distribution and cold storage facilities in Australia, New Zealand and across Asia and we look forward to delivering an industry-leading solution for Chrisco’s national packing and distribution requirements.”
CBRE state director industrial and logistics Peter Turnbull said: “We undertook an extensive search for a suitable site that met Chrisco’s requirements. Chrisco chose to partner with Logos due to the offering they provided and the demonstrated capability they have in delivering cold storage and food grade facilities.”
Chrisco managing director Geoff Spong said: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Logos because of their experience and track record in delivering logistics facilities on time. Having our Australian business housed within a single facility will allow further efficiencies to be driven through the business and support Chrisco for its next phase of growth”.
