THE latest shipping figures from Pilbara Ports Authority indicate the ports delivered a total throughput of 60.3 million tonnes in March this year.
Last month’s throughput figures marked a 4% decrease from those recorded in March 2021.
Port Hedland recorded a monthly throughput of 47.3 million tonnes, of which 46.5 million tonnes was iron ore exports.
There was no variance from Port Hedland’s total throughput in the same month last year.
Imports through Port Hedland reached 147,000 tonnes in total, which is an 18% decrease compared to March 2021.
Port of Dampier delivered a total throughput of 12.1 million tonnes, a 15% decrease from the same month last year.
Imports through Port of Dampier totalled 71,000 tonnes, which equates to a 38% decrease from March last year.
