MAERSK Line is to cease its bi-weekly call at Napier, NZ on its OC1 service and it is to re-instate a weekly call at Port Chalmers, NZ.
The change is to be effective from the MVS Oluf Maersk voyage 152N, which is scheduled to depart Sydney on 31 December.
The OC1 service connects Oceania with the East Coast US and the Americas.
In a statement, Maersk said the change was aimed at protecting schedule integrity on the service while improving consistency and enable a “stable weekly product”.
“The Oceania supply chain continues to be negatively impacted by the global supply chain disruption,” the company said.
“In Oceania we continue to experience terminal congestion and suspension of proforma berthing windows impacting our schedules.”
Maersk said it would offer alternative products for Napier cargo on its Southern Star and J-Star services.
The new OC1 weekly rotation will be Sydney, Melbourne, Port Chalmers, Tauranga, Panama Canal, Manzanillo, Cristobal, Cartagena, Philadelphia, Charleston, Panama Canal, Balboa, Tauranga and Sydney.
