VICTORIA International Container is shutting down after a COVID-19 case was detected among the workforce.
In a notice to customers, the terminal said it is working with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services to determine who is a contact of the case.
VICT advised trucks already inside the terminal to leave without completing their transactions.
“At this stage, VICT will be closing effective immediately for landside operations for a deep cleaning exercise and anticipates being back up and running from 10pm subject to DHSS advice,” the notice said.
“Please bear with us while we work through the process to accommodate those bookings that have been affected by the closure.”
The notice said VICT would notify customers as soon as it had a clear direction on the ability to resume operations.
