THE GENERAL cargo ship Alica (IMO 8600868) was alongside at the Hiep Phuoc Port in Ho Chi Minh City on 26 April when it lost stability, spilling 18 containers into the river Soai Rap, according to local reports
The ship, built in 1987 and registered in Mongolia, has a cargo capacity of 2470 DWT, with a length overall of 76.28 metres.
Local media reported there were 54 containers onboard, and some of the 18 that fell overboard some washed ashore about a kilometre away from the incident.
