FEDEX Express has announced the expansion of its dangerous goods shipping service in Australia.
The business will now handle dangerous goods shipments on international priority services across Adelaide, Perth and all delivery and pickup areas that are remote and less accessible across Australia, excluding Tasmania.
Customers must ensure their shipment is in full compliance with IATA‘s dangerous goods requirements and FedEx’s policies prior to shipping via FedEx International Priority services.
“As a company, FedEx continues to evaluate the breadth and depth of our services in order to support the growing demands of our customers,” said Peter Langley, vice president, FedEx Express Australasia.
“The expansion of FedEx dangerous goods shipping service strengthens our ability to meaningfully support our customers and the Australian community by moving essential items under the dangerous goods classification such as medical life-saving appliances swiftly and securely across much broader areas of the country,” he said.
“We understand that this pandemic has disrupted many business-as-usual operations for our customers.”
Mr Langley said they remained committed in the end-to-end delivery of goods through their domestic and international network. All classes of dangerous goods for this service are accepted, except those categorised under the International Air Transport Association’s Hazard Class 1 Explosives, Class 7 Radioactive Material and Class 6.2 Infectious Substances in Category A.
