A NEW regular director connection between Singapore and Port Hedland has been announced by ANL.
This initially is to be an extra call on ANL’s PAX service and is to operate on a 20-day frequency.
The Pilbara connection is set to cater for both containerised and break-bulk/out-of-gauge cargo and is to sail from Singapore from 30 October.
According to ANL, the Pilbara connection means customers will benefit from shorter supply chains, reduced road haulage and the opportunity to source product more cost effectively from other parts of Australia via Singapore.
As demand increases, ANL plans to have several vessels dedicated to the Pilbara, with increased frequency and accessibility to a regional ports including Dampier and Onslow.
The ANL service is to offer a sailing from Singapore every 20 days with an approximate eight-day transit to Port Hedland, in addition to a range of landside delivery options including Dampier and Karratha among others.
ANL’s General Manager, Intra-Oceania, Chris Peck says,
