FORMER Sydney Swans’ legend Warwick Capper helped launch first birthday celebrations for freight forwarding business Verus Global at Brighton Baths in Melbourne this week.
Other guests including actress and model Jodi Gordon, journalist Anjali Rao as well as other notables in Steve Smorgan, Matthew Richardson, Brayden Maynard, Marley Williams, Cameron O’Shea, Ben Hebbard, Dominique Gauci, Jay Kennedy Harris, and Kristian Jaksch.
Verus pitches itself as an “industry disruptor” and has reported turning over more than $24m in its first year.
Verus Global group CEO and director Jackson Meyer was on hand to welcome guests who mingled over canapes and cocktails.
“Last night was the perfect way to celebrate a very successful first year for Verus Global,” Mr Meyer said.
“It was very humbling to have such a high calibre of guests in attendance that have supported us on reaching this one-year milestone.”
Jackson Meyer has been awarded several awards during the last 12 months, including having been nominated for Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list and was ranked 49th in Australia’s Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs.
In November last year he was recognised at the 2019 DCN Australian Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards in Melbourne with the Young Achievement Award.
He was also 2019 Australian Entrepreneur of the Year – Startup, 2019 Melbourne Young Entrepreneur of the Year – Professional Services, 2019 Australian Freight Forwarder of the Year – Finalist and won Outstanding Young Alumni for Haileybury College, all within one year, at just 23 years of age.
