MARITIME-focused law firm HFW has been ranked by newspaper The Times among the UK’s best law firms.
HFW was ranked as a market leader in four areas: company and commercial; energy and resources; maritime; and M&A.
The Times said HFW’s sector expertise in aerospace, commodities, construction, energy, insurance and shipping had given it “a depth of knowledge rivalled by few other law firms”, and noted the significant growth of the firm’s M&A and commercial litigation practices.
The rankings are based on a survey of more than 3,200 solicitors across England and Wales. Less than 2% of law firms recommended by respondents made it into the final rankings.
HFW global senior partner Richard Crump said they were “extremely pleased” to see our deep sector expertise and the strength of our disputes and transactional offerings recognised.
“We pride ourselves on providing clients the best possible service across our chosen areas, and have expanded significantly in recent years – both in terms of our practice and international network – to help us to continue to meet our clients’ changing needs,” Mr Crump said.
“We have ambitious plans for the future and will actively continue to pursue opportunities for further growth across our core sectors, services and geographies.”
HFW managing partner Jeremy Shebson said the ranking reflected the talent, hard work and commitment of everyone at HFW.
“We’re lucky to have outstanding and ambitious lawyers and business services professionals, who together embody our entrepreneurial, creative and collaborative culture, and who share our determination to drive the business forwards,” Mr Shebson said.
