GIVING small to medium-sized enterprises greater control over their supply chains is one of the aims of FedEx Express’s remote pickup service.
FedEx Express is a subsidiary of FedEx Corp, the world’s largest express transportation company.
The enhanced remote pickup service or RPI response time is said to be as few as two hours.
The RPI service aims to allow customers and importers to arrange for a package pickup from an exporting location in any other region and have it delivered in an importing location in any other region in accordance with the shipping service chosen by the customer.
With this concept, FedEx believes it has reduced the response time for its RPI service down from 24 hours to as few as two hours
This enhanced service is available in the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Africa and Canada.
“With our fast, reliable and superior logistics solutions, FedEx puts the reins firmly in the hands of our customers,” said Karen Reddington, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx Express.
“We understand that our customers have customers of their own. With this easier import process and added convenience, our customers can now deliver the same excellent customer experience and reliability to their customers that we provide to our customers.”
According to FedEx, as more Australian SMEs seek to import from both within Asia Pacific and beyond, more doors were being opened for SMEs.
